In the field
On October 15, 2025, Mecaware took part in the "Recycling and Green Batteries" theme day organized by the RS2E network at Chimie ParisTech's Grande Bibliothèque. Mathieu Bordy, Laboratory Manager, together with Maxime Ducreux, Scientific Development Engineer, took the opportunity to present Mecaware's innovative approach to lithium-ion battery recycling.
The event brought together a number of academic, industrial and institutional players committed to building a European recycling industry: IFPEN, ENS Lyon, ICGM, Ampère, Phenix, TIAMAT, Renault, Orano, as well as several leading research teams.
The ICGM and the Phenix laboratory are research teams, so perhaps this duplicates the end of the sentence.
The day's events highlighted several trends that are shaping the industry:
In this context, Mathieu Bordy presented Mecaware technology, based on sulfate-free CO₂ chemistry, enabling selective recovery of lithium, nickel, cobalt or even copper, in battery grade quality.
His speech also served as a reminder:
Mecaware's participation in this event illustrates the importance of working hand-in-hand with research and industry to build a new circular battery value chain in Europe. This collaborative dynamic will be decisive in securing materials, reducing the environmental footprint and supporting the development of truly sustainable electromobility.
The RS2E network (Réseau sur le Stockage Électrochimique de l'Énergie) brings together French laboratories and manufacturers involved in batteries and energy storage, with the aim of accelerating innovation and structuring the industry.
