Project objectives

  • Maximize the recycling of critical battery metals to support the energy transition.
  • Complete recycling of battery components, aiming for the highest possible recovery rate.
  • Achieve TRL 5 on the SEPAR8 process, guaranteeing industrial validation of the process at pilot scale.

  • Reincorporate recycled materials into the manufacture of new batteries, with particular attention to environmental impact.

  • Evaluate the applicability of the process to additional end-of-life battery streams and electronic waste, supporting the long-term viability of the circular economy model.

Structure of the SEPAR8 Process

This project involves the research and development phase aimed at developing a recycling process suitable for end-of-life lithium-ion batteries.

A closer look at the diagnosis and dismantling process

Focus on diagnosis and dismantling

As part of this project, we are developing a process for the treatment of hazardous materials. Together with INERIS, we are conducting a comprehensive assessment of the industrial risks associated with each stage of the process and defining the preventive and mitigation measures required to ensure safe operation.
